The by-elections have been triggered by the death of Cllr George Meehan (Labour) who represented Woodside ward and by the resignation of Cllr Denise Marshall (Labour) who represented Noel Park ward.
Ms Hollis lives in Wood Green and Mr Adebiyi lives near Noel Park in Crouch End, N8. The two Lib Dem candidates have committed to campaign on national issues and local issues such as housing, dumped rubbish, crime and improvements for local parks.

Cllr Gail Engert, Lib Dem Leader of the Opposition, comments:
“I am delighted to have Derin Adebiyi and Jenni Hollis as our candidates for the by-elections in Wood Green. They are both hard working local campaigners and would make good councillors for Wood Green. I would urge residents who want a strong, liberal voice representing them to back Derin Adebiyi and Jenni Hollis.”
Derin Adebiyi, Lib Dem candidate for Noel Park, comments:
“Haringey Labour seems to be hell bent on closing children’s centres whilst spending an excessive amount on consultants. Whilst the Conservative Government is attacking our human rights. That’s why it is so important to have a local Liberal voice arguing there is a better way.
“If elected I will work with the local Liberal Democrat councillors to help Noel Park residents with the issues that matter to them.”
Jenni Hollis, Lib Dem candidate for Woodside, comments:
“Locally, Haringey Council are dominated by a Labour party intent on closing children’s centres and making cuts to social care, while continuing to spend too much money on agency staff and publicity. On top of that, the new Labour MP for Hornsey and Wood Green has failed residents by not voting against the awful Conservative welfare cuts.
“I’m an experienced campaigner – with social justice, the environment, and localism among my key priorities. And from pavement politics to raising national issues, I’d love to give this part of Haringey a fresh, independent, liberal voice. I’m delighted to be selected as the Lib Dem candidate for Woodside, and will give it my best shot.”
