Ticket barriers-Alexandra Palace Station

The introduction of ticket barriers at Alexandra Palace Station will mean that passengers accessing the station from the Bedford Road entrance will need to walk the length of the bridge, go into the ticket office and go through the barriers to reach the platforms.

Please sign the petition below:

I, the undersigned, call on Govia Thameslink to reverse their decision to close access to Alexandra Palace Railway Station's platforms via the bridge and to force passengers to access the platforms via the main ticket office. Govia Thameslink should look at alternative options, rather than this restrictive approach.

The new entry and exist system is positively dangerous.

I have used this staion for years and the sudden decision to close the gates to the platforms and make us all walk a long way round is extremely unhelpful to passengers. Barriers could easily be built on the platforms themselves (like Finsbury Park for instance) if fare dodging is what this is all about. The new arrangement appears to have been put in place solely for the convenience of Govia Thameslink, without a seconds thought for passengers.

Mrs Gaynor Dimes This will involve an unnecessarily long walk from the Bedford Road entrance, which is the one I always use.

This is an unnecessary imposition, just install ticket barriers at the entrance to the platforms like any normal station

The one entrance to the train station makes running for a train (from Alexandra Park road way) impossible. It is a massive inconvenience every day.

A large majority of the passengers arriving or departing from Ally Pally station use the entrance on Bedford Road – from using the station it’s easy to see.

This is going to create a bottleneck at the Buckingham Rd end of the foot bridge in rush hour. The footbridge should be opened up (currently divided down the middle) and the ticket gates installed at three gates entrances. This is the question of money I suspect – 1 versus 3 ticket gates.
