School Streets can't wait

Haringey Lib Dems brought a motion before Full Council on 18 Mar 2019 for School Streets to be introduced in every primary school in the borough asap, and at the latest, before the end of this administration. Where it wasn't possible for a school to have a School Street, no-idle zones would be introduced.

Haringey Labour refused, and instead amended the motion, so they are only committed to producing a written report on School Streets by March 2020.

We believe that children cannot wait for a report; that we must bring in School Streets immediately and take action today. That's why we are calling for children, parents, teachers and schools to support our petition for Haringey to reconsider their position, and work cross-party to make School Streets happen now!
