Urgent help for local businesses unable to access COVID-19 crisis relief

Numerous local businesses are in danger because technicalities are preventing them accessing relief during the COVID-19 crisis.

Our councillors have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government asking them to extend the eligibility criteria for COVID-19 business grants and business rate relief to businesses in shared premises, and to businesses that pay their business rates via their landlord on a Rent plus Rates basis.

You can read the letter and details of our request here.

Please sign our petition to support our call for businesses trapped in a loophole to get access to the financial support they need below.

"I call on the Government to immediately extend the eligibility criteria for COVID-19 business grants and business rate relief to businesses in shared premises, and to businesses that pay their business rates via their landlord on a Rent plus Rates basis."
